An analysis of advantages and disadvantages of the Unix operating system

Flexibility was whether trying to suggest that Unix vendor to x, y, z into their core, to fix a particular problem or add to their OS? I guess is no, just because it seems unlikely.

In the Linux world, you do have a core of source, if you have a profound knowledge, you can actually change themselves. Price compared to Linux, you can take a higher price to buy Unix vendors of proprietary Unix. This cost includes licensing costs is not very high, mainly in the packaging of the cost of other things. These include maintenance agreements, software licensing, more expensive hardware, and marketing staff of indirect costs, and so on. Market share of Linux and Windows OS market share are promoted, but Unix market share but declining.. Although I am not sure what Unix will die out (we all remember BYTE magazine predictions), but it certainly won't. Linux closer than Unix, Linux has just begun its innovative height. Out of trouble when you decide to run AIX system on UNIX, you must at all times maintain cooperation with IBM. Including hardware, support, maintenance, their sales personnel or business partners. I think that this is not a bad thing, IBM in every field has a strong strength, but once the cooperation, you will leave out this vendor. If this is the Linux operating system, you don't need it, you don't need to be dependent on any one vendor. Despite that, many Linux distributions, but their essence is the same. Support Unix system administrator in your IT staff to spend than Windows or Linux system administrators have to be expensive. Migrating to a new environment, you must take into account all the costs.
